From Kathryn Hillier- Archives:
Kambala’s new Archivist has been on site for 4 weeks now. Dr Kathryn Hillier has 8 years of Museum and Archive experience and comes to us from the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Her first job will be to photograph the over 400 relics in the collection, such as the “Kambala Girl” figurine pictured here. This figurine was created in the 1987 for the school’s centenary. The photographs will be added to the collection database, which contains over 8000 entries!
Kambala’s Archive Department was initiated in the 1987 by Kambala Old Girls’ Union as a Centenary gift to the school. It has an extensive collection of administrative records, memorabilia and photographs. Dr Hillier’s next projects will be the digitisation of the school magazines and the scanning and electronic cataloguing of the photograph collection. Watch this space.
